Course catalog
A complete path with free resources
Twelve courses across three levels — Explorer, Builder, Innovator. Every course maps to free, vetted online resources so any family can self-study at their own pace.
Stage 01 of 04
Explorer
Where curiosity becomes capability.
- Curiosity
- Confidence
- Tech comfort
Robot Friends: First Builds
A friendly first encounter with robotics. Students put together their first programmable robot, learn how sensors and motors talk to each other, and write the logic that makes their robot react to the world.
- Ages
- 8 – 11
- Duration
- 6 weeks
Code Quest: Scratch
Programming concepts (sequence, loop, conditional, variable, event) by snapping blocks together to build games and stories in Scratch. The goal isn’t syntax — it’s thinking in code.
- Ages
- 8 – 11
- Duration
- 8 weeks
First Python
A gentle Python introduction for younger students. Variables, types, simple input/output, loops, conditionals, lists — nothing more. By the end students write a 30–60 line program that does something fun: a quiz, a math game, a story generator.
- Ages
- 10 – 13
- Duration
- 8 weeks
- Prereq
- C2 Scratch helps but is not required.
AI for Reading & Imagination
What AI is, where it shines, where it trips up. How to use AI to help with reading, creative writing, art, and music — and when not to use it. Healthy skepticism with hands-on demos.
- Ages
- 9 – 13
- Duration
- 6 weeks
Make It Real: Tinkercad + Print
How to model a 3D object in a browser, export it, and print it (or send it to a library/maker-space to print). The whole pipeline: idea → CAD → STL → slicer → printer → tangible thing.
- Ages
- 9 – 13
- Duration
- 6 weeks
- Prereq
- Parent-managed Tinkercad account if under 13.
Robotics League: VEX IQ / FLL
Season-long competition robotics. Students design, build, and drive a tournament robot — learning to iterate under real deadlines and against real opponents.
- Ages
- 9 – 13
- Duration
- ~14 weeks (season)
- Prereq
- C1 Robot Friends helps.
Stage 02 of 04
Builder
Where making becomes a habit.
- Hands-on creation
- Problem solving
- Iteration
Robotics Engineering Fundamentals
Real engineering practice on a robotics platform — sensors and actuators, control loops, CAD-then-build, debugging, and the engineering notebook habit. Bridge from “drag-and-drop in Blocks” to “I can write the program in text and reason about why it works.”
- Ages
- 11 – 15
- Duration
- 10 weeks
- Prereq
- C1 Robot Friends helps; not required.
App Builders Studio: Block Coding
Mobile app development with block-based code. For older newcomers who never did Scratch, or Scratch graduates who want to ship a real Android app. Students build apps that use sensors, cameras, AI, and the web.
- Ages
- 12 – 17
- Duration
- 8 weeks
- Prereq
- Scratch comfort helps; not required.
Python for Builders
Real Python. Variables, control flow, data structures (list, dict, set), functions, files, simple OOP. By the end students write a 100-line program that does something real — pulls data, transforms it, writes a result.
- Ages
- 11 – 17
- Duration
- 12 weeks
- Prereq
- C3 First Python or Scratch comfort.
AI Builders Studio
How to build with LLMs and other AI tools — how to prompt them well, chain them, ground them with real data, and ship a small tool. Includes a serious AI ethics and safety thread.
- Ages
- 12 – 18
- Duration
- 10 weeks
- Prereq
- C9 Python for Builders strongly recommended.
Engineering with CAD
Professional parametric CAD. Sketches that drive geometry, constraints, assemblies, design-for-print (overhangs, tolerances, supports), slicer settings that actually matter. The bridge from “shapes in a browser” to “things that fit other things.”
- Ages
- 12 – 17
- Duration
- 10 weeks
- Prereq
- C5 Make It Real helps.
Competition Robotics: VEX V5 / FRC / FTC
What it takes to run a competition robotics season at the V5 / FTC / FRC level — strategy, CAD, fabrication, code (Python/Java/C++), driver practice, scouting, and the engineering notebook that wins judged awards.
- Ages
- 13 – 18
- Duration
- ~20 weeks (season)
- Prereq
- C7 Robotics Engineering Fundamentals.
Stage 03 of 03
Innovator
Where ideas meet real impact.
- Original thinking
- Real-world impact
- Execution
Students who’ve done Explorer and Builder courses bring it all together by tackling a real problem — for their family, school, or community — with the tech they’ve learned.
Grandparent Translator
Kids whose grandparents speak limited English struggle to have real conversations across generations.
Senior Adaptive Grips Library
Arthritic seniors struggle with door knobs, keys, pill bottles, zippers. Commercial aids are expensive and not personalized.
School Air Quality Dashboard
Poor classroom ventilation increases illness and reduces cognitive performance. Admins lack data.
